Graduate Research Assistant (PhD) Position in Poultry Microbiome

Position overview:

The Poultry Microbiome and Health Research Group (The Oladokun Lab) in the Department of Poultry Science (website) at Texas A&M University is seeking a motivated PhD student to join as a Graduate Research Assistant. Our research focuses on advancing poultry health and sustainability through innovative microbiome studies. The selected student will work on projects that enhance gut health in poultry and develop precision biotics for targeted microbiome modulation. The preferred start date is January 2025; however, applications will be accepted until the position is filled.


Qualifications:

Educational Background: A master's degree in Poultry Science, Animal Science, Veterinary Science, Microbiology, or a related field.


Skills:

Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities. Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Experience with microbiome analysis and molecular techniques.

Familiarity with bioinformatics and multi-omics approaches is a plus.
